Culture medium: Hams F12K or DMEM with sodium bicarbonate, 2 mM L-glutamine and 1,0 mM sodium pyruvate and 10% FBS

Subculture routine: Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1: 6 i.e. seeding at 2 x 10⁴ to 4 x 10⁴ cells/cm² using 0,25% trypsin or trypsin / EDTA; 5% CO₂, 37°C

Morphology: Epithelial

Karyotype: 2n = 46

Depositor: Obtained from ATCC

Comments: Derived from a 58 year old Caucasian male. The cells can synthesise lecithin utilising the cytidine diphosphocholine pathway. They also contain inclusion bodies.

Sterility: Tests for Mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi were negative
