Cell Description: Human lymphoma B cell

Culture medium: RPMI 1640, with sodium bicarbonate, 2 mM L-glutamine and 1,0 mM sodium pyruvate, 80-90%; FBS, 10-20%

Subculture routine: Cells are difficult to culture! Maintain at 0,5 - 1,0 x 10⁶ cells/ml; split 1:2 every 3-4 days; seed out with 20% FBS at about 1x10⁶ cells/ml, possibly no cell growth during first week.

Morphology: round to polygonal cells, growing singly or in small clusters in suspension.

Immunology: CD3-, CD10+, CD13(+), CD19+, CD20+, CD34-,

CD37+, HLA-DR+, smIgM(+), smIgG(+)

Fingerprinting: unique DNA profile using multiplex PCR at D1S80,

D2S44, D17S30 and ApoB

Sterility: Tests for Mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi were negative

Biosafety Level: 1

Comments: established from the pleural effusion of a 73-year-old woman with B cell Non-Hodgkin´s lymphoma in 1987; carries t(14;18) IGH-BCL2 fusion gene, doubling time of ca. 60-90 hours.
