Cell Description:                 human mesothelioma, biphasic

 

Culture medium:                      RPMI 1640 with sodium bicarbonate, 2 mM L-glutamine and 1,0 mM sodium pyruvate + 10% FBS

Subculture routine:                 remove spent medium, add fresh 0,25% trypsin, 0,03% EDTA soluton, rinse and remove trypsin. Add fresh trypsin, and let the culture sit at room temperature (or at 37¡C)  until the cells detach. Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new falsks.

Split Ratio:                               1:3 to 1:6 is recommended.

Morphology:                            Fibroblast

Karyotype:                              modal number = 72; range = 70 to 78

Oncogene:                              c-myc; v-src +; v-abl +; v-er B +; c-raf 1 +; Ha-ras +; Ki-ras +; N-ras +; N-myc -; L-myc Ð c-myb -; c-fos -; -fes -; v-fms -; v-sis Ð

Sterility:                                   Tests for Mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi were negative
