Culture medium: RPMI 1640 + lOOmg/l NaPyrovate + 10% FBS
Subculture routine: Split confluent cultures 1:4 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2 - 4 x 10.000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% C0₂; 37°C
Morphology: Epithelial
Karyotype: 2n = 46
Comments: Derived from a malignant ascitic effusion in a 63 year old female caucasian with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The cell have receptors for oestrogen and other steroid hormones.
